Sheryl Crow is returning to the world of Cars!

The Grammy-winning singer made a surprise appearance during the Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on Saturday (August 15) at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

During the presentation, Sheryl debuted “Built to Last,” her new theme song for the upcoming Disney Jr. animated series Cars: Lightning Racers. She followed the new track with a performance of “Real Gone,” her fan-favorite song from the soundtrack of the original 2006 Cars movie.

The performances helped mark the movie’s 20th anniversary, but Sheryl’s return to Radiator Springs goes far beyond one evening at D23.

Disney revealed that she wrote 10 additional original songs that will be featured throughout Cars: Lightning Racers alongside its new theme.

The preschool series follows Lightning McQueen, Mater and their new teammates on fresh racing adventures around Radiator Springs. Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy will reprise their respective roles as Lightning and Mater.

Leah Lewis and Yuri Lowenthal are joining the franchise as new characters Pipes and Miles, while Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph will voice Ms. Blinker.

Cars: Lightning Racers will debut on Disney Jr. and stream on Disney+ in 2027. Disney Television Animation is producing the series in association with Pixar.
