The Greatest Showman is coming to London’s West End.
Disney Theatrical Group made the announcement during the D23 Entertainment Showcase held in Anaheim, Calif. on Friday night (August 14). Performances will begin at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in Spring 2027.
The musical initially premiered at the Bristol Hippodrome earlier in 2026 and played a sold-out eight-week engagement. Next year will mark the West End debut with Oliver Tompsett returning as P.T. Barnum, the character Hugh Jackman played in the film.
Samantha Barks will also return as Charity Barnum. Also confirmed for London are Ben Joyce as Phillip Carlyle, Vajen van den Bosch as Jenny Lind, and Malinda Parris as Lettie Lutz.
The cast also delivered a live performance during the D23 showcase!
The Greatest Showman musical features the movie’s songs like “This Is Me” and “Rewrite the Stars.” There were also new songs written for the stage production.
“Benj Pasek and Justin Paul return with the songs audiences will know and love, alongside new numbers created especially for the stage; Tim Federle’s book captures a heartfelt love of theatre and show business; and two-time Tony Award-winning Casey Nicholaw directs an extraordinary cast led by the incomparable Oliver Tompsett and Samantha Barks,” shares the press release.
Disney has not confirmed the exact opening date yet, but tickets are expected to go on sale later this fall.
