There’s a new show in the Big Bang Theory universe!
Earlier this week, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, starring Kevin Sussman, premiered on HBO Max.
The show will follow comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, who is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. Along the way, he and some of his buddies meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well.
While speaking with Us Weekly, co-creator Chuck Lorre made it very clear that the new series will not have a crossover with spinoff prequel series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
“[There will be] no East Texas in this show,” Chuck said. “No, I don’t think so. Let them exist in their own worlds.”
He went on to note that he doesn’t see how the two shows could interact.
“Lots of stuff gets pitched before we decide what to do,” Chuck added. “So you never know.”
However, fellow co-creator Bill Prady suggested a way to make a crossover happen, teasing, “We do some time travel.”
