Shay Mitchell‘s lifestyle and travel brand BÉIS has been acquired by Samsonite Group.
The 39-year-old Pretty Little Liars actress launched the company in 2018 and grew it into a massive force in the luggage world, with lifestyle bags comprising 50% of their net sales.
Samsonite’s acquisition is valuing the company at $210 million, with Shay selling off a portion of her stake in the company, but retaining some equity.

Shay Mitchell will retain a 15% stake in BÉIS: How much did she earn?
Samsonite is paying $178.5 million to acquire 85% of the equity in BÉIS.
The purchase includes the full 70% ownership stake from Beach House Group, which was previously the majority stakeholder of the company.
Shay previously held 30% equity in BÉIS and she is selling half of that to Samsonite as part of the deal. Selling the 15% stake should net her a $31.5 million payday and she’s retaining a 15% stake, which is worth the same amount of money.
ESTIMATED PAYDAY: $31.5 million

Shay Mitchell speaks out on the sale
“This is a dream come true. I’m so proud of what our small but mighty team has built over the past eight years,” Shay said in a statement. “We’ve always dreamed big, and joining the Samsonite Group gives us the chance to dream even bigger. They’re truly the perfect partner – our strengths complement each other so well, together we can take BÉIS places we couldn’t have on our own. I’m so thankful that I get to do something I love every day. Eight years in, I’m as excited as I was on day one. It honestly feels like we’re just getting started, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what’s next.”
BÉIS will continue to operate as a standalone brand with Adeela Hussain Johnson remaining as CEO.
Shay is “committed to continue to guide the brand’s long-term creative and product vision post-closing as Founder and Head of Creative and Design.”
Shay has been busy this year filming a new TV show airing in 2027!
