Nara Smith is sharing a very positive update amid her young daughter’s cancer battle.
Earlier this month, the 24-year-old content creator revealed that her 2-year-old daughter Whimsy Lou, whom she shares with husband Lucky Blue Smith, was diagnosed with cancer late last year.
In a new Instagram video posted on Friday (July 17), Nara thanked fans and followers for all their kind and supportive messages, before revealing that little Whimsy is now in remission.
“I just wanted to come on here and say thank you so, so much for all your kind messages, prayers, support. It truly has meant so, so much to us,” she said. “Lucky and I have been going through this and processing it for the last eight months, and we were debating on even sharing such a private part of our life.”
“We wanted to wait until she was done with treatment and knowing what the outcome of her situation would be before sharing it and even finding the words to share it,” she continued. “Now that she’s finally in remission, it felt like I could find the words to share.”
Nara – who is also shares daughter Rumble Honey, 5, son Slim Easy, 4, and daughter Fawnie Golden, who was born in September, with Lucky – said that she ultimately decided to share the private matter to “shed light on what so many families go through and battle privately.” She added that the entire situation “opened my eyes” to the expenses of medical care.
“The whole point of me sharing our experience was to shed light on what so many families go through and battle privately,” Nara continued. “Going through chemo treatments opened my eyes to how expensive medical care is and what a toll it takes on families, specifically.”

“So, I’ve been researching charities and foundations to support, but in the meantime, I want to post some links that could help families,” she added.
The influencer went on to say that she and Lucky are trying to “return to everyday life” now that their daughter is in remission. However, she did admit that she doesn’t know if life will “ever feel normal again” after this ordeal, but they are taking it one day at a time.
“Lucky and I have been trying to return to everyday life and taking it day by day. I don’t know whether life will ever feel normal again, but we’re trying to navigate this next chapter the best that we can,” she said. “But with all of that being said, thank you so much to every single person for your kindness.”
“I’m sending all my love to families that are actively still going through this fight,” Nara concluded.
We’re glad to hear that Whimsy is in remission.
