Mandy Moore is throwing a little bit of shade at her ex-husband, musician Ryan Adams.
The 42-year-old singer and This Is Us actress opened up about her current husband Taylor Goldsmith and how he asked her father for her hand in marriage, something that he ex did not do.
Mandy chatted about it on the latest episode of the That Was Us podcast.
He was touched. I had been betrothed before, but that person did not ask my father. So I think my dad was very touched that it was done in the traditional way. My dad appreciates that.
Mandy said that her father wasn’t expecting that moment to happen and didn’t want Taylor to think he needed his permission.
But I believe he also is super awkward. He was like, “Oh gosh, you don’t have to ask for my permission.” As Taylor recounted it to me.
Mandy married Ryan in 2009, when she was 24. They split in 2015 and finalized their divorce the following year. Mandy and other women later accused of him of abusive and manipulative behavior.
In an interview from two years ago, Mandy looked back at their unhealthy marriage.
Mandy got married to Taylor in 2018 and they share two sons together, Gus, born in 2021, and Ozzie, born in 2022.
