KATSEYE is on top!
The “Gnarly” girl group landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their new album WILD as of Sunday (August 23) for the weekend dated August 29.
It’s their first-ever No. 1 on the chart, following 2025’s Beautiful Chaos, which peaked at No. 4.
It’s just the fourth No. 1 album from an all-female group in the ’20s, following efforts by TWICE, NewJeans and BLACKPINK.
The last No. 1 album by an all-woman group before that was Danity Kane’s Welcome to the Dollhouse in 2008.
It’s also KATSEYE‘s biggest week in equivalent album units and pure album sales, bringing in 145,000 units, marking the largest week for an all-woman group since the charts started ranking by units in 2015.
It also notched the highest pure album sales week for an all-woman group in more than three years, since TWICE’s Ready To Be: 12th Mini Album.
WILD‘s album sales consist of 24,500 SEA units (streaming) and 145,000 album sales, driven by CD and vinyl variants.
Most recently, the group released their Britney Spears-inspired video for “Hootie Frutti.”
They also spoke out for the first time amid a second member’s hiatus announcement.
