Joy Behar is leaving The View for a little while.
On the Behind the Table companion podcast, producer Brian Teta revealed that the 83-year-old longtime co-host would be away for a bit.
“This is your last podcast for a little bit, because next week you’re not going to be here. Are we talking about this?” Brian asked, to which Joy then responded, “Well, they made me bank the weekend shows even though I’m not here. You better tell people why I’m not [here.]”
“I fly to Paris this week, and then I go take the tunnel to London after a week, and I’ll be in London a second week doing my play, My First Ex-Husband, at the Boulevard Theatre in the West End. We have Jackie Hoffman and I [playing] the two American women talking, then we have two British actresses. Doesn’t that sound like fun?” Joy explained.
Kara Swisher and Sheryl Underwood will be filling in as guest hosts, and presumably others as well.
Brian also said, “Whoopi [Goldberg] is going to be here on Fridays,” he joked. “I don’t think she knows yet, but I’ll let her know that she’s going to be here.”
