Helen Mirren, 80, and her husband Taylor Hackford, 81, are going viral for a video that is circulating online.
A man approached the Oscar winner and her husband on the street during a night out in London, England. It’s unclear when this video was recorded. The Times claims it’s an older video, shared in November.
“There is Helen Mirren, the avowed Zionist. You said Israel should last forever because of the Holocaust,” the unidentified person shouted from behind the camera in a video that is getting a ton of attention on X.
“F–k off,” Taylor said in response.
“You’re an evil Zionist b—h,” the person behind the camera then said.
Helen did appear to say something, but it was not audible. Taylor could also be heard saying inaudible statements in response as the protestor moved further away.
Helen previously played Prime Minister of Israel Golda Meir in the film Golda. She addressed backlash a few years back.
The Telegraph reports that she did previously say, “I believe in Israel, in the existence of Israel, and I believe Israel has to go forward into the future, for the rest of eternity. I believe in Israel because of the Holocaust.”
