Hayden Panettiere tragically died at the young age of 36, and now, upsetting new details are emerging.
If you did not see the tragic news, the Scream and Nashville actress and singer passed away on Sunday (August 16). She was five days shy of her birthday.
New details about what happened at the scene have emerged
A 9-1-1 call came in about an “unresponsive female” in “cardiac arrest” at about 1:51 pm ET. Emergency Medical Service workers responded to the call from a South Carolina home, where she was reportedly found dead by a friend, TMZ reports.
Once EMS was on scene, they performed “advanced cardiac life support.” Apparently, this includes, “CPR by adding special medicines, breathing tubes, and heart rhythm tracking.”
They apparently did chest compressions, but they were unable to revive her.
She was pronounced dead at 2:32 pm ET.
The dispatch audio has been heard, and “overdose” is mentioned as Hayden Panettiere’s cause of death remains unknown
People is reporting that officials could be heard discussing an “overdose” on the dispatch audio. While this has not been been confirmed, her publicist has reportedly released a statement to the publication.
“I don’t have any more information at this time, but it’s looking as though that is the case,” the rep shared.
Police shared a statement, saying there were no signs of foul play
They said officers, “accompanied by EMS personnel, responded to a report of an unresponsive female.” This happened at 1:50 p.m. on August 16.
“Upon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the statement continued.
“The case is under investigation by the Greenville Police Department in conjunction with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call,” they added.
Hayden‘s family just suffered another tragedy a few years ago when her younger brother passed suddenly.
