If you didn’t know, Craig played Hayden Fox on the ABC sitcom that ran for nine seasons, with Shelley playing his love interest and then wife, Christine Armstrong.
What Did Craig T. Nelson Say About Shelley Fabares’ Passing?
Craig has since issued a statement regarding Shelley‘s passing.
“Shelley was a great and grand lady… just a rock. I will miss her. She was a foundational part of my life during the run of Coach,” he wrote, via EW, calling her “just an extraordinary woman. She always had a smile. She was welcoming in the midst of chaos and always someone I could go to for advice and counsel, not only myself but others as well. I’ll remember you with love, Shelley Fabares.”
Who Else Spoke Out About Shelley’s Death?
Shelley‘s One Day at a Time costar Glenn Scarpelli also spoke out on social media, writing: “Our beloved Shelley Fabares left her earthly body yesterday morning. My heart is filled with the most wonderful lifelong memories with Shell. She was truly beautiful inside and out. We remained in touch since the day I met her. The last time we spoke was last Christmas week. I knew she had been struggling a bit with her health but I always thought I’d physically see her again. We both wanted that. The last thing we said before hanging up was ‘I love you’ and ‘I love you too.’ For that I will ALWAYS be grateful. Shelley, I hold you in my heart FOREVER and EVER. Until we meet again, beautiful friend. You were a true example of how to ‘do life.’ My heart is with Mike and everyone who loved her.”
Shelley is also known for starring in The Donna Reed Show, Clambake and Girl Happy, among many other roles. Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. RIP.
