Thora Birch made a rare red carpet appearance this past week and shared an update on a potential third Hocus Pocus movie.
The 43-year-old actress was just a young girl when she played Dani Dennison in the 1993 classic Hocus Pocus, but she did not return for the 2022 sequel.
Now that a third movie is in the works, she’s opening up about potentially reprising her role in the upcoming film.

“Yeah, I’d like to know what they land on for how Dani wound up. I’m super open to the idea,” Thora told Entertainment Tonight while attending the InStyle Imagemaker Awards event in Los Angeles.
Thora reflected on the movie failing at the box office, but then becoming a cult success.
“It was so devastating when it first came out. It was such a bomb and we were all bummed because we loved making it,” she said. “We were like, ‘What, you don’t like it?’ and then ten years later they’re like ‘Oh my God, are you that girl from Hocus Pocus.”
Thora also talked about the 30th anniversary of her movie Now & Then.
“I actually learned how to ride a bike for real on that set,” Thora said. “I loved the soundtrack, the music, and working with the older ladies… it was just a great group and to see how everybody’s gone on and really done amazing stuff with their careers since then is great. It’s come full circle, because for a while it wasn’t playing anywhere, and then it did pop up on some of the streamers so it’s finding a new audience which is nice.”
