The season three finale of Shrinking is airing this week and the episode will wrap up the show’s three-season story.
Bill Lawrence, the creator of the Apple TV series, is opening up about what you can expect from the upcoming fourth season. While Harrison Ford, Jason Segel, and the rest of the cast are returning, don’t expect the same show.
In comments made on social media on Saturday (April 4), Bill admits that creating the fourth season feels “scary” and “risky” because of the direction they’re going in.

Bill tweeted, “Season finale and end of this three season story next week. Hope you dig it. (Excited to start completely new story next year. Feels scary/risky/fun).”
“We always pitched a three season story on #Shrinking grief-forgiveness-moving forward. We wanted to stay true to that and end the way we planned. (So excited to do Season 4 and a new story with the same cast.),” he added.
He later followed up by saying. “#Shrinking questions. Not spoilers/info already out there… this week is the Season finale, not last week; there is a Season 4 with the EXACT same cast (that’s why we are doing it, we love each other); we are ending the 3 Season story we pitched so have to tell a new one S4.”

Shrinking follows a grieving therapist (Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own.
