Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace Dillard Bassett says her social media activity has gotten her in trouble in the past.

The 39-year-old reality star spoke about allegedly being fined around $35,000 due to “liking” certain comments on X, formerly Twitter, in an episode of the Undomesticated podcast.

The topic came up because Candiace related to something her Traitors co-star Lisa Rinna wrote in her new book You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star claimed she had been fined $50,000 for “saying things online” that went against her “contract.”

“I remember I texted her and I was like, ‘I feel really seen by that.’ I always kinda felt like I was alone in that,” Candiace said.

As for why she was fined, she shared, “There are rules. There are rules that come into play when it matters. There was definitely a paralegal or somebody in business whose job it was just to watch my Twitter. And this was back when you could see people’s ‘likes.’ And I would ‘like’ s–t. If something sat well in my spirit, boop. Like, like, like. I was liking left, right and center. And that went against the rule.”

Candiace added, “I would say things — but it was mostly me affirming things that were being said.”

According to her, she wasn’t even told when she was about to be fined and instead learned when her check was lower than anticipated.

“They wouldn’t even tell me. I would just get my money and be like, ‘This looks a little short.’ And then I’d call and [they would say], ‘Yeah, we took some of it,’” Candiace laughed. “Thanks for telling me!”

She explained that she was “was asked not to use certain adjectives to describe people,” and had never known of another housewife to be fined, which is why she felt so “seen” by Lisa‘s comments.

In her book, Lisa wrote, “I’ve literally been fined $50,000 by Bravo for opening my mouth and unleashing impulsive opinions on Instagram. That’s one reason why, after eight years clawing my way to the top of RHOBH, I decided to leave the show.”

Lisa also opened up about her sex life with husband Harry Hamlin in her book.
