Mark Ruffalo is said to be joining Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but according to him, he’s still unsure!

“If I’m doing that — which the rumors are that I am, once I get a script, I’ll know it’s real — but I love him and we have a common friend in Lena Dunham, believe it or not, (laughs) who just adores him,” he teased with THR, referring to Jon Bernthal, who is also set to return as The Punisher. “I can’t wait to work with him, he’s so funny and he’s such a great actor. He plays that character like nobody else. I’m really excited to meet him, I’ve never met him!”

That same night, he continued to play down his involvement in the Marvel movie in another interview.

“I don’t know! I’m still waiting to hear,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I haven’t read a script yet. If it does happen, it would be incredible.”

He then gushed about being part of the MCU, which he first joined in 2012′s The Avengers.

“I grew up with this. It’s changed my life in the best ways,” he shared. “Each time it’s this new director and new world… it’s so exciting. There’s nothing else like it. Maybe television, but a TV show doesn’t change its whole world from one director to the next, and that’s what’s exciting about Marvel.”
