Hilary Duff is sharing some insight into her relationship with husband Matthew Koma, including how much they fight.

The married couple are in the news right now thanks to the release of the 38-year-old singer’s newest album luck… or something, which she co-wrote with Matthew, 38.

“Growing up in the industry, I felt like a lone rider for such a long time. That’s such a dorky word, but I was like, ‘I’m tough. I’ve got this.’ It took me a really long time to accept how much he could take off of my plate,” she says, calling them “such a unit.”

But Hilary explained that people are interested in how well they work together. Do they fight a lot?

She said they don’t fight often, to which Dakota agrees, but then the “Growing Up” singer corrected herself.

“Well, that’s not true. We have one drag-out fight once a year. He actually brought it up the other day. He was like, ‘We haven’t had a fight in such a long time.’ I’m like, ‘Are you ready?’” she shared.

Describing one of their previous fights, Hilary claimed she “threw his phone in a Bougainvillea bush and it felt so good.”

She continued, “It was during the fires. We had been displaced, we had all the f–king kids, and we just needed to have it out. But we don’t usually fight, and making the record—I don’t speak this language. He makes music all day, every day since he was 15 years old. So I’m like, ‘That sound, what is that? Get that out of here.’”

Her latest album allowed her a chance to get vulnerable and Hilary has publicly spoken about some of the things she sings about, like her complicated relationship with her dad and her estrangement from sister Haylie Duff.
