Hersheypark, the theme park in Hershey, Pennsylvania, is facing extreme backlash online for their reply to a tweet about Dolly Parton‘s Dollywood.
The late music icon passed away at the age of 80 this week. Her fans and loved ones have been devastated by this immense loss.
A fan shared that Dollywood has kept their prices low in this economy.
Herysheypark then responded, “Our summer tickets are $49.99.” This drew extreme backlash from fans.
They later updated, “We sincerely apologize for this error. A reply clarifying our ticket price in another conversation was posted without seeing the context of this chain so we removed quickly to avoid any confusion or insensitivity over intent.”
They included the original post then intended to reply to instead.
They added, “never our intent for any disrespect.”
