A new docuseries about Wendy Williams is in the works.
On Monday (August 24), Peacock announced that a new three-part documentary about the 62-year-old TV personalty and her eponymous talk show will be released in 2027. The project is tentatively tentatively titled Clap If You Care: The Wendy Williams Show.
The upcoming project will celebrate The Wendy Williams Show‘s “outrageous fun, cultural impact, and meteoric rise.”

Longtime Wendy executive producer Suzanne Bass is serving as an executive producer on the new docuseries and will provide insight from her 13 seasons on the 14-season talk show.
“Her experience brings invaluable insight and a firsthand account of the show’s unique place in pop culture,” according to a press release obtained by People. Along with Suzanne, over 20 former staffers will also share their behind-the-scenes experiences and memories.
According to the press release, the docu-series will chronicle Wendy‘s “skyrocketing from unlikely beginnings as a radio host” to redefining the daytime talk genre. “While praising Williams’ TV reign, the documentary also sheds light on the complicated truths about the cost of fame and answers long-lingering questions surrounding the infamous exit from her own show.”
After 14 years, The Wendy Williams Show came to an end in June 2022. The news came after Wendy had dealt with various health issues over the final few seasons.
Wendy has been under a guardianship since May 2022
Wendy was placed under the court-ordered arrangement in May 2022 after Wells Fargo raised concerns about whether her affairs were being properly handled. Attorney Sabrina E. Morrissey was appointed as her guardian.
Over the years, Wendy has publicly called for the arrangement to end. During a March 2025 call-in interview on The View, she denied being incapacitated and said that she wanted control of her life back.
“It was my choice to get an independent evaluation on my incapacitation, which I don’t have it,” Wendy shared at the time. “How dare they say I have incapacitation. I do not.”
The medical history surrounding the case has also been disputed. Wendy‘s care team previously announced that she had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia.
However, in November 2025, a neurologist concluded Wendy did not have frontotemporal dementia following additional testing. Her team said they would “file legal docs” at the time. No end to the guardianship has been announced at this time.
During a recent outing, Wendy once again voiced her desires to be removed from under the guardianship.
