Stella Lefty is revealing what happened behind-the-scenes with her hit song, “Boston.”

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter and daughter of Groupon co-founder multi-billionaire Eric Lefkofsky, recently spoke out in a new interview about her music.

During the conversation, she addressed “Boston,” which has gone on to become a Top 3 hit in the United States.

“Boston” is about her boyfriend, Vincent Mason, and she wrote it right after they met in Nashville.

“This was the first week of us. Oh my god,” she recalled to Vanity Fair.

“I wrote the chorus to ‘Boston,’ posted it, and didn’t think about it at all. I woke up the next morning and [the video] had done relatively well,” she continued.

Some fans pointed out that it sounded similar to Noah Kahan’s 2024 single “Stick Season.”

“When I was writing the song, I wasn’t thinking about Noah Kahan. I was literally thinking about nothing at all.”

His reps got in touch and said: “We think this sounds similar.”

She and her team decided to give Noah a writing credit before the song officially came out to prevent a lawsuit.

“I don’t want to step on anybody’s toes, so I’m like, if this sounds like that, whatever, all good,” Stella said.

Noah recently clarified a lyric that fans thought was NSFW.
