Bunny Levine has sadly passed away at the age of 97.

The beloved character actress started acting later in life and she worked as a librarian for more than 20 years before she decided to pursue a change in career.

NBCLA reports that Bunny died in her sleep on Thursday (August 20) at her home in the Tarzana neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Bunny Levine’s cause of death

The cause of death appears to be “natural causes,” the LAPD told the news outlet. The police confirm that they were called to the Levine residence on Thursday morning because of an unresponsive person.

Bunny is best known for her memorable appearances in many TV shows and movies, including her recent role in the 2024 movie Thelma opposite June Squibb. Some of her other recent projects included 2024’s Sacramento, 2026’s The Cure, and the most recent season of The Upshaws.

Bunny worked with Adam Sandler several times, including on 2008’s You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, 2017’s Sandy Wexler, and 2023’s You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.

Her television credits included popular shows like Gilmore Girls, Ugly Betty, 2 Broke Girls, Shameless, The Mindy Project, Everybody Loves Raymond, and more.
