Sendhil Ramamurthy says Hayden Panettiere was the kind of actress who remembered all of the crew members on set by name.

The 52-year-old Heroes star, who played Dr. Mohinder Suresh on the NBC series, shared a very sweet and moving tribute to the late actress on Tuesday (August 18).

Hayden tragically passed away at the age of 36 on Sunday night and since then there has been an outpouring of love and tributes to the beloved performer who also starred on Heroes as the indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennett.

In his Instagram post, Sendhil said he first met Hayden during his final screen test for Heroes and when he arrived, he thought he was going to walk into a room full of nervous actors. Instead, he found “Hayden belting show tunes in the waiting room. Not a nerve in sight.”

Sendhil said he learned a lot from Hayden despite being older than her

Despite being significantly older than her, he praised her as being a pro and said she had “3x as much experience” and that he “learned a lot from her.”

Sendhil continued, “She stuck up for background actors when they were mistreated, knew every crew members name, and was so generous with her time.”

He also shared a funny anecdote about him and their other co-star Adrian Pasdar, saying they’d try to find ways to “boost” Hayden out of class when she had to go between setups.

Hayden Panettiere‘s mom Lesley Vogel has released a statement on her death.

The photo he shared for the post was one of him and the Ice Princess star doing some press in Las Vegas.

He said she looked out for him when he wasn’t feeling well

“The above pic was taken in Vegas the day after the Golden Globes,” Sendhil explained. “We had to do press and I wasn’t feeling well. Hayd kept going on and on at me about drinking fluids and made sure I had plenty of Gatorade. That’s how I will remember her: a kind, joyful, professional, shi*talker, who even at a young age, understood the importance of hydration.”

“Sending love to her family, friends, and my fellow cast mates, RIP Hayd. You will be missed,” he concluded.

Frankie Muniz also penned a touching tribute to Hayden earlier today after working with her on multiple projects.
