Get ready for more of RuPaul’s Drag Race!
It was just announced that MTV has renewed the hit drag competition series for a 19th season, along with the aftershow RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked, according to TheWrap.
“Nearly twenty years later, what began as a dream has become an extraordinary global movement. We owe endless thanks to our partners at MTV and Paramount+, along with every queen, judge, crew member, and fan who has built RuPaul’s Drag Race,” World of Wonder producers shared in a statement. “Drag brings people together in powerful ways – and we are honored to keep celebrating new voices and sharing iconic moments with the world.”
Myki Meeks is currently the reigning winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, after picking up the title earlier this year. Nini Coco was the runner-up.
RuPaul’s Drag Race, hosted by RuPaul, and Untucked air on Friday nights on MTV.
That’s not all that’s coming back…
Along with the main series, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars has also been renewed for a 12th season on Paramount+!
Just weeks ago, RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 co-runner-up Crystal Methyd was crowned the winner of season 11.
RuPaul’s Drag Race is currently nominated for 11 Emmys at the upcoming 2026 Emmy Awards in September.
The series has won 30 Emmys in the past, including a long-running streak of Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program for RuPaul.

- Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program – “Grand Finale”
- Outstanding Production Design for a Variety or Reality Series – “RDR Live Returns!”
- Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming – “Versatile” / “Stimulate” / “What’s In A Ball?”
- Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program
- Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program – “You Can’t Keep a Good Drag Queen Down”
