All about Audrey Hobert

Audrey, 27, dropped her debut single “Sue Me” in 2025 and over a year later, it has been surging in popularity. The song is featured on her debut studio album Who’s the Clown?

“It was the fifth song I ever wrote alone and one of the first I made with my producer Ricky Gourmet,” Audrey told Cosmopolitan. “I was with Ricky the week after I had slept with my ex, who I knew still had feelings for me. I felt pretty bad about it—although it was a nice evening with him, because deep in my heart, I knew I didn’t feel the same way.”

In addition to writing and releasing her own music, Audrey has co-written many songs with her childhood friend Gracie Abrams, including hits like “That’s So True” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry.”

She has even directed music videos for herself, Gracie, and Malcolm.

Audrey has been playing the music festival circuit this summer and she notably achieved one of Lollapalooza’s biggest crowds for a daytime act.

All about their family and TV producer dad

Audrey and Malcolm grew up in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles with their parents Tim Hobert and Jill Tracy.

Tim is a TV producer and writer who has worked on shows like Spin City, Scrubs, Community, and The Middle. Jill is a former actress.

The Middle, following a lower middle class family living in Indiana, ran for nine seasons on ABC from 2009 to 2018. Eden Sher starred as middle child Sue, who was 13 when the series began.

During a fan Q&A at a recent concert, Audrey was asked if it’s true that she feels a connection with Sue Heck.

“Well, yeah, I mean my father wrote on the show. People think that I’m based on her, but I was really young. She’s older than me, so I was younger. But I think she’s a great character and yeah, this is a connection,” Audrey said (via TikTok).
