Everyone seems to be so confused by Ellie‘s immediate popularity on the social media app as she somehow went viral with her first-ever video posted on TikTok.
The 16-year-old British girl posted a “get ready with me” video on August 9 to launch her account and she somehow went viral with more than 11.7 million views on the four-minute video so far.

“Hello. Oh my god, I can’t believe I’m doing this. Hello. Um, this is gonna be my get ready with me account, I guess. I don’t know. I don’t know what I’m doing on here. But I just need to get more confidence and I need to stop being shy,” she said in the video.
In the video, Ellie talked about blocking the boys from her school and she noted in the caption that she was worried about being bullied. Before posting the video, she reportedly had just 6 followers on her account. Days later, she has more than 539,000 followers and that number just keeps growing.

Ellie Ellis reacts to her overnight fame on TikTok
Ellie admitted in a follow-up video that she’s “overwhelmed” by the quick success, but she’s “grateful” for the opportunities already coming her way.
She told her new fans, “I’m still getting used to doing this. I woke up, and I was like ‘Oh my god I need to make a video.’ I just think it’s so scary how everything has changed so fast. I want to bring you all on this journey with me because my life has potentially changed overnight and I actually have no idea what is next for me.”

Ellie’s account got age restricted by TikTok
In an update posted on Tuesday (August 11), Ellie revealed that her account got “age restricted” by TikTok because they thought she was under 16.
Ellie was “stressed” because no one could comment on her videos and she was nervous about losing out on receiving PR packages. Brands like Garnier, Maybelline, and NYX have been offering her packages in the comments of her videos.
