Lionel Richie is taking some shots at Usher and Chris Brown.
The 77-year-old music industry icon spoke out during a recent concert while on the Sing a Song All Night Long Tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.
In the video, he compared his own time with The Commodores with the 47-year-old “Yeah!” entertainer and the 37-year-old “Run It!” star, who are currently on their own joint The R&B Tour.

“Usher…Chris Brown….see they try to do something new,” he began, as seen in viral fan footage from teh show.
“The Commodores with Earth, Wind & Fire, we were doing that back 40 years ago,” he continued.
“:Only difference is, between then and now….we didn’t go to jail,” he went on to say with a smile and an apology afterward.
What Happened With Chris Brown’s Recent Legal Cases?
While Usher hasn’t had many legal issues, he was likely referencing Chris‘ multiple confrontations over the years, including his assault of ex-girlfriend Rihanna, for which he pled guilty and was sentenced to five years of probation, and a more recent attack of a music producer in a nightclub, to which he also pled guilty.
He has also been ordered to pay nearly $13 million in damages to former housekeeper Maria Avila after a brutal dog attack took place in his home back in 2020.
Lionel faced some health issues earlier on in the tour.
