Chris Evans‘ tattoo artist, Josh Lord, has given a peek at his Avengers tattoo!
If you were unaware, five of the six members of the core Marvel cast decided to get a group tattoo after the release of Avengers: Infinity War in 2018. Chris, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth all got inked, with Mark Ruffalo opting not to get it done.
On Wednesday (August 12), Josh Lord posted a montage of photos of Chris and some of his ink, but fans were especially excited to see the Avengers tattoo, as we don’t often get a glimpse of it.
Josh captioned his montage with, “Just a tip of the hat to one of my favorite people before Avengers Doomsday comes out! This guy has been there for me during hard times and I’m always honored to be his friend and tattooer. (Still keeping his other tattoos private by request but this blurry one of him was his own choice to release..) Obviously Chris is a brilliant actor who has done sooo much more than just Captain America. Anyone lucky enough to see him on stage will attest to that, plus countless of my favorite movies, but this is a post inspired by the upcoming movie. I’ll do one for RDJ for the other big Marvel fans soon too. I see on line that there is a lot of confusion about the original avengers tattoo so I will do a post next to try to dispel the misunderstandings. For now, enjoy some cute behind the scenes pics and notice how cool our shop shirt looks on Chris and come buy one!”
Josh then followed that post up with another one showing more from the process with the other Avengers stars.
He wrote, “Sooooo original avengers tattoo explained so people stop thinking it’s satanic not that there is Anything wrong with that for my satanist followers. All religions should be treated equally of course, as America intended. There it is. All the initials and symbols explained. Plus some fun behind the scenes pics. Next if people want, I’ll post the Avengers doing MY Honorary Avengers tattoo. Since we all know that @markruffalo did not get the tattoo YET! I still hold out hope that he comes around. He did see them the next night and seemed to like them. Please encourage him to complete the team”
