NBC is switching things up for The Voice in 2027, with a season full of celebrity contestants for the first time ever.
Amid rumors that Carson Daly would be stepping down as host for season 31, it has been confirmed that he will be taking time off from the show and Keke Palmer will serve as host for the special edition.
The judging panel will consist of three music stars serving as coaches, helping mentor the celebs they select for their teams.
Keke Palmer is hosting and Joe Jonas is joining as a coach
This is Keke‘s first season as a host on The Voice, but she’s no stranger to NBC after previously hosting the network’s game show Password.
Carson will serve as producer on the season, according to Deadline.
Joe Jonas will make his debut as a coach on The Voice alongside two returning coaches.
Queen Latifah and Riley Green will return as coaches for the celebrity season
Queen Latifah and Riley Green are both making their coaching debuts in the upcoming 30th season, set to air in Fall 2026. They will return as the other two coaches in the celebrity season for 2027.
The Voice: Celebrity, which is already filming this summer in Los Angeles, will air in the spring next year.
Changes for the celebrity season revealed
NBC confirms that the Blind Auditions will still be part of the celebrity season, but they are introducing Voice Boot Camp for the upcoming season.
TheWrap confirms that the contestants will include “a range of celebrities from actors and musicians to?influencers,?athletes, comedians and reality TV stars.”
Audiences will get a behind-the-scenes look at how the contestants prepare for their performances through the Boot Camp portion. “Later in the competition, contestants will socialize in the ‘Workroom.’ Viewers will see how they strategize, rehearse and prepare in the Battle round,” the outlet adds.
