Marcello Hernandez is hosting the ESPYs tonight and his girlfriend Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral is there to support him!
The 28-year-old comedian, best known for his work on Saturday Night Live, walked the red carpet with Ana by his side on Wednesday night (July 15) at David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City.
The ESPY Awards, presented by ESPN, is short for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards.
While appearing on a February 2026 episode of Jake Shane‘s podcast Therapuss, Marcello revealed how he and Ana first met.
“We met at a charity event in, New York, and a friend of hers wanted me to make a video for her dad because her dad was a fan,” Marcello recalled. “And then she was like — the uncomfortable friend that comes with the friend to do the asking for a video thing.”
“And then I just saw her and I got her Instagram and a year later, we finally went out,” he added.
Marcello was announced as the ESPYs host in June.
“I started doing comedy 10 years ago, in Cleveland, Ohio, and I would take the train 12 hours to New York to sell comedy tickets on the street in Greenwich Village in exchange for stage time,” he said in a statement. “It is an honor, and frankly feels crazy to be hosting the ESPYS this year in New York. I’m sure the energy is going to be great.”
Marcello used to play soccer while studying at John Carroll University.
