The episodic stills from House of the Dragon season three, episode three have been released…and it looks like we’ll be seeing a lot from the fallout of Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) killing Alicent’s father Otto.
In the latest episode of HotD, Rhaenyra’s forces reclaimed King’s Landing after Aegon II fled the capital. During the takeover, Otto Hightower was found imprisoned beneath the Red Keep. Rhaenyra sentenced her longtime political rival to death and personally carried out the execution. After this act, which Rhaenyra sobbed through, she was able to take the throne for the first time.
Alicent (Olivia Cooke) then arrives to see her father’s dead body, and they exchange a powerful stare.
The new stills seem to show Rhaenyra not quite at peace.
The stills also show the two women sharing some moments together.
It appears as if Alicent might have some words to say to her once best friend.
The stills also confirm that we’ll see James Norton‘s new character again in episode three.
It appears as if he meets up with Daemon Targaryen at one point.
Corlys Velaryon is also back, after we have not seen him since the Battle of the Gullet.
The new episode of House of the Dragon airs on HBO Max at 9pm ET on Sunday (July 5).
