Oprah Winfrey is telling a story about what happened the last time Whitney Houston appeared on her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show.
In 2009, Oprah claims that Whitney fell off of the stage during her appearance on the show, where she was performing.
“I had such trust from The Oprah Show audience. The first interview I did with [Houston], when I had gone behind the stage when I asked her about her intention, she was clean, but the day she came to perform in front of the audience she was not and she fell off the stage,” Oprah recalled during an appearance at Cannes Lions (via Variety).
“I knew that if that story got out, she would be destroyed by that. Even though the audience had cameras, I begged them not to put those pictures out because it would ruin her life, and they did not. That would not happen today,” Oprah added.
Oprah Winfrey reveals Whitney Houston once fell off the stage while performing on her show, but she asked the audience not to tell the media about it.

If you don’t know, Whitney Houston passed away in February 2012 at the young age of 48. RIP.
