According to reports, the child was reported missing at approximately 5:00 p.m. after becoming separated from his parents. While searching for the child, he entered a secured area for the Monorail, which was not in operation. The ride was closed and safeguarded by a chained closure at the entrance and barricaded turnstile at the platform.

A bystander climbed up to the rail to retrieve the child, to the relief of the surrounding crowd. The child was reunited with his family unharmed.
