Dennis Quaid wants to stop paying monthly child support to his ex-wife, Kimberly Buffington.
The 72-year-old The Substance actor filed a petition to stop monthly child support payments of $13,750 for their 18-year-old twins after they graduate from high school in the next few weeks.
Their 2018 divorce agreement stated that payments could end “when a child completes 12th grade (if still under 19 and a full-time high school student) or reaches the other enumerated endpoints, whichever occurs first,” via People.
Dennis is also required to pay an additional amount of money to Kimberly each year if he makes more than $1,314,000, and he wants that amount to be “prorated to each child’s graduation date rather than using Dennis‘ full-year 2026 income.”
The couple welcomed their kids back in November of 2007. They got married in 2004, and divorced in 2018. Kimberly is his third ex-wife.
Dennis also opened up about politics recently, saying that President Donald Trump is “genuine” and has his voters’ “best interests at heart.”
