The 24-year-old tennis player, currently ranked as No. 1 in the world, lost to Juan Manuel Cerundolo on Day 5 of the 2026 French Open on Thursday (May 28) at Roland Garros in Paris, France. 

Jannik Sinner’s 30-match winning streak has ended

Jannik had been on a 30-match winning streak up until this point, losing to the 24-year-old Argentinean player after five sets.

According to reports from the match, Jannikappeared to struggle in the Paris heat, which at one point reached 90 degrees out on the clay court,” via People.

He reportedly struggled in the extreme heat

In fact, he received medical assistance between the third and fourth sets.

“I struggled and started to feel very dizzy, very low on energy. I tried to serve it out but didn’t have a lot of energy. In the fourth set, I let it go a little bit trying to have a bit more energy in the fifth. The first one was a very important game and I couldn’t hold. Then it went a bit downwards,” he told BBC.

Jannik Sinner says he “hit the wall”

“I woke up this morning, didn’t feel very well and tried to keep the points very short. Also in the beginning I was hitting very clean, very good, and then I just kind of hit the wall, and that’s it.”
