Episode 12 of The Pitt‘s second season ended with a cliffhanger moment involving a character named Orlando, but it’s likely you don’t remember who he is… so let’s fill you in.
In the final seconds of the episode, we were introduced to this case.
“Head trauma. Unwitnessed fall from the warehouse catwalk where he works as a security guard,” an EMT says while rolling the patient in on a stretcher.
Dr. Samira Mohan (Supriya Ganesh) walks by and sees him and says, “Oh my god. Orlando. He left five hours ago.” The episode then cut to black.

Orlando Diaz (played by actor William Guirola) was first introduced in episode two of season two. He had fallen at his construction site, but it was unknown where he fainted or hit his head and had a concussion.
It’s discovered that Orlando was suffering diabetic ketoacidosis and he was ordered to stay in the hospital on an insulin drip until his labs normalized. He said that he didn’t have health insurance and wouldn’t be able to cover the costs. The hospital figured out some ways to cut costs, but he still didn’t want to stay there. Eventually, he left to go to his next job.
You might also remember that Orlando’s family showed up, with his daughter trying to raise money on GoFundMe to cover the medical costs. This was something that angered Orlando and he didn’t want to accept charity.
Supriya, who plays Dr. Mohan, has opened up about the cliffhanger in episode 12.
“This is literally her worst nightmare. It’s like calling back so much to how she lost her father, and there’s been so many reminders of that,” she told TVInsider.com. “She does whatever she can to focus on other things to not process it, but I think it does catch up to her. Hour 13 is just an intense, intense episode.”
We already have an update on season three!
