The producers announced on Tuesday (March 17) that she “is withdrawing from Proof, with the production’s complete support and well wishes, due to a treatable medical condition that calls for her full attention.”

Two-time Tony winner Kara Young is stepping in to take over as Claire.

Kara has been nominated for Tony Awards for the past four years and won in 2024 for Purlie Victorious and in 2025 for Purpose.
