Sterling K. Brown Explains Why He Posts Photos of His Sons On Social Media | Sterling K Brown | Celebrity News and Gossip | Entertainment, Photos and Videos

Sterling K. Brown is sharing why he willingly posts photos of his kids online.

The 49-year-old Paradise star visited Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast this week and they had a conversation about their kids whether or not they post photos of them on social media.

Dax said he and his wife Kristen Bell chose not to put Lincoln, 12, or Delta, 11, on socials to be safe and to give them a chance to “be anonymous and make mistakes.”

Sterling agreed with that, but for him, keeping his boys Amaré, 10, and Andrew, 14 safe actually involves sharing photos of them online.

“Your children are obviously white. My children are Black. I feel like the more I put them on social, the safer they are. Any proximity that Black boys can have to some sort of celebrity or access, I’m trying to make sure that they make it home,” he explained.

However, he does appreciate their need for anonymity and ensures that his sons are able to have normal nights out with him and their mom, Sterling‘s wife Ryan Michelle Bathe.

“If I am out with Ryan and the boys, we have a policy of no pictures. And the policy is because they deserve to have a regular night out. It’s their time,” he explained. “Because Ry and I have a certain amount of spotlight or whatnot, doesn’t mean that they should receive less of us.”

He added that it’s one thing if they’re specifically at an event to get photos taken, but if he’s at a soccer game or something similar, he’ll politely decline photo requests.

The This Is Us alum said most people are “so sweet and so cool,” it’s only every once in a while someone pushes back.

Their conversation is queued up in the video below.
